Frequently asked questions about our API

Wallets API

What is a wallet session?

A wallet session consists of a session-id and session-key. It is used for authenticating requests from a WLW consumer (not API-to-API).

What is a CUID?

CUID = Claimed User ID

It is an unverified identifier. It is used when initiating a transaction to indicate who the consumer is.

What happens when a wallet is deleted?

All payment methods and SDKs are deleted. An event is sent to the WSP (see page for WSP events for more information about this event).

What is sub ?

It's a unique id for a consumer/wallet. This id is unique for every WSP, meaning the same consumer will not have the same sub when signing up with another WSP. If a consumer signs up again (with the same WSP), after deleting their wallet, the consumer will have the same sub.

What is the loyaltyId ?

It is an identifier provided by the WSP. WLW does not use it for user authentication. WLW does not do any verification on whether any consumer has the same loyaltyId.

What is the lifetime of a paymentInstrumentId?

The paymentInstrumentId is the same for the lifetime of a payment method within a specific wallet. Meaning, if it's deleted and added again, it will receive a new paymentInstrumentId. Also if the same payment method is onboarded to another wallet it will have another paymentInstrumentId in that wallet.
